A year ago I wrote about ‘January sales with style, Berlin’ (see blog post from 9th January 2015), looking at how the German’s minimalistic approach to presentation created a very tasteful looking sale.
This was an exciting collaboration with Helen Draper Mercer, a dynamic and creative Manchester based stylist. We were tasked with designing and creating an installation to display 10 pieces of clothing within a perspex cube for the ‘Wonders of Autumn’ campaign at McArthurGlen, Cheshire Oaks, one of the UK’s leading Designer Outlets.
Whilst the UK high streets are painted red with sale signs and retailers struggle to maintain their usual standards of presentation, it was refreshing to see a more subtle approach to sale shopping in the cosmopolitan district of Mitte.
Last week I was lucky enough to be involved in the launch of Robbie Williams’ menswear brand, Farrell at Primark, Manchester. I was tasked with dressing the window ready for launch.
It has arrived earlier than most retailers, but yes its that time of year again, Christmas!

Amongst the German stalwart brands were some very familiar brands from the UK high street that have now developed European locations such as Clarks and C&A. Theses were some of the window schemes that […]
I’ve recently returned from my first trip to Euroshop, Düsseldorf, the world’s leading retail trade fair. The show is held every three years and showcases 2,000 exhibitors from more than 50 countries. The focus is on Store Design, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Retail Technology, Exhibitions and Special Events. The ‘Messe’ exhibition centre is extremely well organised and clearly […]
We may only be in the third week of January but I have already had a busy start to 2014, namely the installation of Primark’s spring window schemes. Primark have started a new approach to showcasing their trends for spring 2014. By moving away from a standard format of a window for each department of […]
A few words about my latest work for Ted Baker, where I was asked to install their Christmas scheme for their Trafford Centre and Manchester store. Over the past couple of years Ted Baker has created a bit of a reputation for itself with its saucy animated characters (last year’s santa in a thong, check […]
